Thanks for your feedback. It's not a View. It's a configuration option of the "Received" field in the Format Columns settings in View settings. You mentioned that region settings are already set to Australian. Just to confirm, have you tried to customize your date format in the Region settings? under Region and select the Date tab in the Customize Format window. However, the change is system wide and makes Explorer "details" view file listings use that date format, which I don't want.
No matter what settings you change, the only solution is the system wide change. I think the reason for that is emails are recently received. Like other apps, if you received them recently, it'll just show you the time and as time goes by, the date, days.. and weeks. Try to observe your previous emails.
